Webmaster
This is a unique position that requires a candidate who can play a lead role in defining IBC’s web strategy and related implementation plans while being responsible for website design, development and daily operations. This person is a doer as well as a thinker.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage, enhance and maintain IBC’s internal and external websites.
- Provide testing for new functionality and enhancements to websites.
- Design and deliver the look and feel of the websites, maintaining brand integrity while, at the same time, being innovative.
- Assume a leadership role in defining IBC’s web strategy, providing assistance and guidance to the IT department as well as Public Affairs and Marketing.
- Actively participate in website planning, web strategy meetings and project team meetings to determine requirements and provide strategic counsel.
- Develop processes and guidelines for website management, maintenance, enhancement and development.
- Analyze web performance information, usage logs, etc., to manage and improve sites.
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure content for all websites fosters a compelling visitor experience.
- Work with content managers in determining best approach for content presentation on web. Assist tracking updates where required.
- Establish cooperative working relationships with internal divisions/departments. Determine their needs and strategies in order to develop and design web pages to meet those needs.
- Support key industry issues by articulating messages for web.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma in web-related field (web design, web development, etc.)
- Strong Internet technical skills including knowledge of HTML, CSS, ASP and JavaScript with ability to design and develop for multiple browsers.
- Five years’ experience in web design, development and maintenance.
- Experience in providing expertise in Web Strategy, including social media, content management systems, usability and web best practices.
- Strong skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, and Dreamweaver
- Strong analytical skills and good report writing skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
- Experience in visitor-tracking analysis and reporting using NetTracker
- Knowledge of MS CMS, and Active Directory are considered assets
- Bilingualism (French and English) and knowledge of insurance are considered assets
